Grey fabric costing formulas
The calculator uses the mill-sheet constants 1825 for warp and 1693.33 for weft.
Warp weight
Warp weight = (warp reed space × reed × 120) ÷ (1825 × warp count × L2L). Use inches for reed space and L2L. Warp cost = warp weight × warp yarn rate.
Weft weight
Weft base = (weft reed space × pick) ÷ (1693.33 × weft count). Add wastage to this base: weft weight = base × (1 + wastage% ÷ 100). Weft cost = weft weight × weft yarn rate.
Sizing and making cost
Sizing = warp weight × sizing rate. Dalal / majuri = pick × (paise per pick ÷ 100). Enter 12 for 12 paise. Warping is a flat rupee addition.
The final cost
Total = warp cost + weft cost + sizing + dalal / majuri + warping. Markups are shown separately. The calculator retains the mill sheet’s rounding rules. Built by Harshvardhan Pareek.
